You can spawn vehicles, get upgrades, and so on. You have to protect your own base, destroy the enemy one, or have the most points at the end of the battle. This is called, Command and Conquer Mode and the idea is that you have one team playing as the good guys the GDI and the other as the bad guys the Nod. The game did have a multiplayer component, but it was not for me. I know this sounds basic, but it is quite fun and the campaign in Command and Conquer Renegade does not overstay its welcome. Occasionally, you will have another objective like destroy a base, protect a civilian, and so on, but for the most part, you just keep shooting until you get to the end of a mission. You just turn your brain off, have fun, and shoot anything that moves. You can play in the first or third person and you are on an all-out attack. The thing is, there is no stealth or sneaking around in this game.

It is like something out of an action movie and while it is not going to win any awards for the writing, it is a decent enough story and it certainly kept me interested. In order to do this, he heads all over the world trying to stop it from happening.

Since acquiring that studio (and subsequently shutting it down) EA has pissed away what could have been one of the pre-eminent names in RTS gaming.One thing I have always enjoyed about this series is the lore and one of the aspects I thought was cool about Command and Conquer Renegade was how it was set in a part of the Command and Conquer lore that most of us know. Honestly, I used to love the Command and Conquer franchise back when it was in Westwood’s hands. They’ll now be using the assets and information they’ve got so far to make a new Command and Conquer game – though I’m not sure anyone really cares anymore. Unfortunately, this sort of thing doesn’t come without casualties it’s been reported that Victory Games has been shut down entirely. Well, they’re not pushing it anymore it’s pretty clear people weren’t happy about the campaign-less, free-to-play, pay-to-win thing. It’s odd EA was pushing the game really hard at E3 and Gamescom this year – even trying to shoehorn the thing in to its Gamescom presentation by trying to show it off as some sort of really competitive eSport title by forcing us to watch a live on-stage 1v1 match between random dudes. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it’s about getting you the game you expect and deserve. That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game.
